You have been sitting for 15:48
At desk
It counts the sitting,
not the clock.
Every other break timer is a stopwatch. FlowBreak uses Apple's Vision AI to see when you're actually at your desk, so it counts real sitting time — pausing the moment you walk away. Every frame is processed on your Mac's own Neural Engine and never leaves it. No servers, no uploads, no account.

How it works
-
1
It notices you sit down
Apple's Vision framework looks for your face once a second, entirely on the Neural Engine. No model download, no server, no upload.
-
2
It pauses when you leave
Step out of frame and the timer stops. Come back and it picks up. The number on screen is real sitting time, not elapsed time.
-
3
It nudges you at your threshold
Anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes. Five synthesized alarm sounds, adjustable repeat speed, and quieter volumes for when you're on a call.
-
4
You wave it away
Hold an open palm to the camera. Or just stand up and walk off — leaving the frame dismisses it too, and starts your break.
Wave it away
The alarm goes off mid-meeting. You don't reach for the mouse, you don't unmute to apologise. You raise a hand, hold it for three seconds, and it's gone.
Press and hold to try it
In the app this is your open palm, read by the camera at 5 fps. FlowBreak ships a practice mode so you can rehearse the gesture before the first real alarm.
Five ways to wear it
The menu bar is the whole interface, so it may as well be yours. Every style is a complete readout, not a skin.

40% of your sitting stretches run past 30 minutes before a break happens.
Tighten your alarm to 30 min, and turn a couple breaks into real walks.
If you ignore it, the desk gets involved
Give your standing desk a WiFi API and FlowBreak will move it for you. Because the most reliable way to make someone stand up is to take the sitting away.
Shake reminder
The desk jogs up and down until you dismiss the alarm. Impossible to tune out, impossible to keep typing through.
Alternating sit/stand
Three warning pulses, then it raises to your saved standing height, holds for a full threshold, and lowers again. All day, without you touching anything.
You'll need the desk firmware first
A $25 ESP32 running jarvis-desk-controller gives a Jarvis — or any Jiecang-based frame, which includes Uplift and Desky — a web dashboard and an HTTP API over your own WiFi. FlowBreak then talks to it on your local network. It's open source, and it took two Sundays and a multimeter: read how it was built.
Manual up and down controls and saved sitting and standing presets are built into FlowBreak. Entirely optional — the app works without any of it.
Private by construction
Nothing is uploaded
Face and hand detection run on the Neural Engine through Apple's Vision framework. FlowBreak needs no network connection to do its job.
Photos are off by default
If you turn on session photos, they land in your Application Support folder and stay there. In the app's own words: "Photos are saved only on this Mac and never leave your computer."
Sandboxed
Distributed through the Mac App Store under the App Sandbox, with camera access and nothing else it doesn't need.
No account
There is no sign-up, no profile, no sync. Delete the app and the data goes with it.
